You start in Kananaskis Country with its spectacular mountain scenery and rugged terrain, only one hour west of Calgary. Drive the Cowboy Trail with picturesque rolling hills, ranchland and cowboys alongside the road to Waterton Lakes National Park, a beautiful and idyllic place with the lake, mountains, the waterfalls and the stately old hotel.
Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park contains the largest collection of rock art in North America dating back thousands of years.
In the heart of the badlands you’ll travel through otherworldly landscapes and topography. This area is a fossil hotbed, there are dinosaur bones scattered all over in Dinosaur Provincial Park!
In Elk Island National Park the elk and bison roam free. Enjoy Whitecourt with its beautiful bodies of water and large forested areas. Grande Cache is surrounded by stunning vistas of the Canadian Rockies.
Jasper National Park is where you can enjoy wonders like the Maligne Canyon, soak in Miette Hot Springs and cruise through the tranquil beauty of Spirit Island. Stretching between Jasper and Banff, you will drive the Icefields Parkway, one of the world’s most spectacular drives. Banff is one of the world’s premiere destinations, spanning a region of unparalleled majestic mountain scenery. Explore the many glacier fed lakes, such as Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, and Peyto Lake. Be on the lookout for bighorn sheep, elk, moose or even black bears.
